Forum TerminologyAdmin, Administrator - Someone with Administrative privileges. They are usually the owner or co-owner of the forum and can help with problems, complaints, and anything else to do with the forum
Avatar - the small pictures that are next to people's names
BBCode - BBCode is a way to add formatting to your text easily
Bot - a program designed to register and post on forums - usually with the intent of spamming, there are also good bots and those are the Search Engine Bots which search the forum for new content to add to the search engines.
Bump, Bumping - As people post into a forum the topic gets pushed further and further to the bottom of the list. Once there is a reply to the topic it puts the topic back to the top of the list. This is called

ing. It is allowed in most of the forums here, but please read the rules in the forums that have rules to make sure it is allowed in that particular forum to avoid disciplinary actions.
CAPTCHA - This is that hard-to-read scrambled bunch of letters and/or numbers that you have to type in when you register. It means "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart.". This just helps prevent spam bots from signing up.
Double post - When you post twice back to back.
Drive by (posting) - joining a forum and posting, then not coming back.
Emoticon, Emotes, Smiley - The little pictures in posts that express what someone is thinking or feeling.

Flaming - This is when people are being disrespectful, insulting, or hostile to one another and is
Flooding - A large amount of posts to one topic. There is usually a flood limit (a time limit in between posts you make) to avoid this.
Forum - can refer to the forum as a whole or a particular section within a forum.
Hijacking - This is when you go into someone's post and start talking about something else taking the attention away from the poster. This is usually rude so, it is best to just make your own topic instead of hijacking someone else's.
Lock - When you see x's are locked in front of a forum, that means the forum or topic is locked and can only be read, not posted to.
Lurker, Lurking - Someone who just reads and hangs around the forum, but never posts. Some lurkers hang around for months, even years before posting.
Moderator- one with powers to moderate (edit, move, delete, etc.) the posts of other members.
Off topic - Has nothing to do with what the current conversation is about
Poll - Most people have participated in polls. It's just like Family Fued when they survey a hundred people. Forum polls, it is just a question or comment and the users inputs are recorded and tallied.
Post - a message submitted to a forum, like when you reply or make a new topic
PM/Private Message - These are like emails, but they are attached to the forum. It is a way for you to send private messages to other members of the forum.
Rambling lunacy - Jibberish, most of which is not understandable and is a speciality of Seto.
Sig, Signature - These are the messages that are below some people's posts. They usually contain quotes, words of wisdom, links, etc...
Spam - When someone posts unwanted information or try to advertise/sell when there is no relevance to this information.
Sticky - a topic that always stays on the top of the topics list
Temp/Perm Ban - A temp ban is when someone is temporarily removed from any participation in the forum for a set amount of time. A perm ban is one someone is permanently banned from participating in the forum.
Thread/Topic - a user-created area intended for a specific discussion.
Word filter - Some naughty or rude words are filtered so if you post something and you notice a word or words are there that you didn't put there most likely it was filtered and the replaced word(s) are put there automatically. Here is a test word for everyone to see how this works. If you type in blishy (change the b to an f, if I type in the word you won't be able to see the word, you will see the replacement word(s) ) and post it you will see the word divine in its place.
